Understanding what is involved with designing a ~386,000 SF building can be difficult. Here are a few tasks that the architect, DRA is currently working on as part of the Detailed Design phase of the project:
- Coordinating structural framing with architectural components of the building.
- Developing exterior elevations and material detailing.
- Developing detailed typical exterior wall sections.
- Developing options for the interior finish materials.
- Developing the lighting design for the building.
- Coordinating under-slab drainage systems with structural and plumbing systems.
- Coordinating then site design elements with civil and landscape features.
- Coordinating shop spaces/related classroom layouts per comments discussed during programming meetings.
- Developing foodservice equipment layouts and schedules.
- Ongoing geotechnical site investigation in preparation for early site work/foundations.
- Reviewing the overall constructability of the project (determining if construction of the design features is possible/feasible).
