Current Design Tasks

Understanding what is involved with designing a ~386,000 SF building can be difficult. Here are a few tasks that the architect, DRA is currently working on as part of the Detailed Design phase of the project:

  • Coordinating structural framing with architectural components of the building.
  • Developing exterior elevations and material detailing.
  • Developing detailed typical exterior wall sections.
  • Developing options for the interior finish materials.
  • Developing the lighting design for the building.
  • Coordinating under-slab drainage systems with structural and plumbing systems.
  • Coordinating then site design elements with civil and landscape features.
  • Coordinating shop spaces/related classroom layouts per comments discussed during programming meetings.
  • Developing foodservice equipment layouts and schedules.
  • Ongoing geotechnical site investigation in preparation for early site work/foundations.
  • Reviewing the overall constructability of the project (determining if construction of the design features is possible/feasible).
